THE FUTURE GROWS HERE

Indigo is a global platform that connects and empowers individuals and communities across cultures through creativity, education, and collaboration. We believe that shared stories and collective action can inspire sustainable change and foster understanding beyond borders.

Many of the people who shape Indigo's work are international or first-generation individuals who have grown up bridging multiple cultures, languages, and identities. They bring a deep awareness of what it means to navigate between worlds, to build belonging, and to create new possibilities from diverse experiences.

This global perspective is at the heart of Indigo. It informs our projects, strengthens our partnerships, and fuels our mission to support inclusive, creative, and resilient communities everywhere.

Welcome to Indigo Group

Indigo Group is a community-driven NGO in Los Angeles, California that helps internationals and first generation Americans thrive in their communities through financial, and leadership support.

Indigo Group became an official nonprofit in February 2024, based in Los Angeles County, California. But our story started long before then. Our purpose is to empower international youth and first-generation Americans through education and leadership opportunities. We want them to grow, discover their voices, and help build a brighter California for future generations.

Indigo is more than an organization. It is a community where art, business, education, and culture come together to lift up internationals and first generation Americans. We are proud to stand with communities from Mexico, Persia, Ukraine, and many others who are shaping the future of this country. Too often, traditional organizations and public policies overlook these communities.

According to the National Immigration Law Center (2024), more than 25 million people in the United States have limited English proficiency, and they are three times more likely to be uninsured than fluent English speakers. This is why Indigo exists: to provide real tools, meaningful support, and hope for those building a new life.

The need in Los Angeles

In Los Angeles County, where cultures and stories come together every day, Indigo was born to lift up voices that too often go unheard. According to the American Immigration Council, immigrants make up nearly 34 percent of the county’s population and more than 40 percent of its workforce. Supporting internationals and first generation Americans is therefore not only a matter of equity but also essential for the prosperity of the entire community.

Our Work

Through our programs, initiatives, and community events, we create spaces where potential becomes power. What began in universities, chambers of commerce, and city halls has grown into a movement that continues to expand with every scholarship, class, event, and story.
